ONE WEEK and 100th POST

Braden turned one week old yesterday! Can you believe it? One week ago I held this baby boy in my arms for the first time. I cant believe it! Here is what our lives have consisted of the past week.

Monday- Braden was born 1:49pm. You were circumcised late that evening and Dr McKee did a wonderful job. Braden stayed in the nursery because I couldn't walk-morphine was working well.

Tuesday- had lots of visitors- had to take my bandage off around 3:00pm-OUCH! I think I had an emotional breakdown I hurt so badly. BAD GAS PAINS!!! Braden stayed in the nursery again-I got a little sleep. Just kept waking up wondering when Braden needed a good feeding.

Wednesday- Met Dr Walley-your pediatrician and had more visitors- Mom came to stay with me Wednesday night-Brad went home to get some rest before his big test.

Thursday- Your weight has dropped from 7 lbs 10 oz to 7 lbs. We missed Daddy! He got to the hospital around 1:30pm. When he got there we hung out and had the best evening just relaxing. We had a few visitors today. Braden stayed in the nursery again. Those nurses love our little boy-everyone is wandering if we are ever going to leave the hospital. HA! Janice and Sam visited us and we asked the nurses to watch him while I got out and walked around- we went down to the cafe and they ate dinner.

Friday- OH NO! TODAY WE ARE TO GO HOME. We got the nurses a small gift but missed Teri-she left work early today. We got your pictures made and I got my staples removed. Dr Walley said you have lost down to 6 pounds 14 ounces. I sure hope I do better at this feeding thing when you get home. We finally left the hospital- yes we LOVED it there. The nurses were AWESOME! Not to mention I have the best doctor in the world!!! We got home around 2:30pm and I was a little sore-Brad had to go to Warrior to get my pain meds and I was left at home with Braden-I wasn't tired but as soon as I fed him and he fell asleep so did I- I DIDN'T EVEN HEAR BRAD COME IN THE HOUSE! We were exhausted. Mom, Dad, and Maw-Maw brought supper to us and it was very yummy! Braden slept in the bassinet and loved it-he was up a lot but we have to get him on a schedule very soon.

Saturday-LONG DAY! We had so many visitors at home. Braden got to watch his first Alabama football game and it was the best game for him to watch!!! They really put a beat down to Florida!!! ROLL TIDE! He wore his Alabama outfit! Too cute. Janice and Sam brought over dinner and it looked like the biggest feast! I have the best parents and in laws- EVER! Josh and Laura Lee and Baby Lane came over to visit as well. We had lots of fun.

Sunday- WOW it was a bad night! you slept all day and pretty much stayed up all night! We tried to watch church on TV-we had seen the same service three weeks ago at church but we just could not stay awake-Braden was sleeping and both me and Brad fell asleep with you beside us. That is a kind of morning I love!! We finally got up and I called my mom and asked her to come get me out of the house! I had not been out since Sunday night. So she took me to Wal-Mart-Dylan tagged along-he is such a good boy. I picked up a few things that we needed. It felt really good to get out of the house. When I got back Janice and Sam had brought Grandmother Chris over to see Braden. And Magon was there with Rylan. Magon fed Braden his FIRST breast pump bottle. He really liked it ALOT.

Monday- Daddy had to work today so we just chilled out at home and you got the hiccups every other hour. Braden only had one visitor and it was the City of Hoover's administrative assistant. Donna brought us a meal from Cracker Barrel-it was yummy. Brad will be sure to eat that tonight. OK so enjoy some more pics of our precious lil boy. He is already growing so fast.

  1. I can't wait to come visit and see him in person! I was sick last week and definitely didn't want to come around you all just in case. Glad you are all doing well!
